This is the week every year that I ask for vegetarian Thanksgiving recipe ideas, so I thought I'd update my list of favorite recipes and ideas from the archives. I've also added some recipes I've come across on other sites that seemed exciting. I hope those of you preparing and celebrating Thanksgiving this week will have a great time with your friends and loved ones. Also, here is a dedicated selection of vegan Thanksgiving recipes (and suggestions). xx, -h
Roasted Orzo Vegetable – so good! This is roasted delicate zucchini and cakes thrown w / orzo pasta and salt yogurt dressing.
Mashed Potatoes – This is the way to make them. The buttery tops and clouds are finely chopped with a saffron garlic butter, and finish with a roasted almond, coriander, sesame sprinkle. Simple, but with enough spin to make them separate.
Golden-Crusted Brussels Sprouts – These are the best. A quick and easy brussel sprout recipe that will turn most skeptics. Vivid green, tender brussels sprouts that turn deep golden and tufted where they touch the pan are dusted with cheese. There is also an oregano version linked below.
Apple Salad Cake – A favorite autumn salad. Look for herbal apples, shaved celery and roasted nuts of your choice. The dressing is crème fraîche with dolomite, garlic and champagne vinegar. The mix of textures and flavors is magical.
Roasted Delicata Squash Salad – so delicious! Valuable transverse cuts of zucchini, a few small potatoes, chopped corn, radishes, Marcona almonds – and a bold trumpet.
Brussels Sausages Brussels – Pancakes and then finished with a sprig of oregano or oregano, and toasted almond slices.
Pomelo Green Beans – A green bean with walnut and garlic and labeled with pomelo portions. Turn it into an easy master by adding some peeled tofu or egg.
Live tasty green beans – or this, another favorite green bean recipe – dill, green beans, leeks, salt and olive oil. This is – five ingredients, one pot – delicious green beans.
Wine Tea Lentils – These simple, wine-loving lovers, by Deborah Madison, have long been a favorite. Perfect addition to Thanksgiving.
Raw Tuscan Salad – A red Chilean pinned, sliced raw salad with calendars tossed in a live, lemon-pecorino dressing.
Quinoa Skillet Bread – If you're ready to change it up a bit, this is an alternative to your favorite corn bread recipe. Or, better put – a rustic, slightly structured, cream-pinned, roasted, herb-flavored corn-quinoa bread pan.
Spinach Walnut Spinach – The ist: a warm pot full of all things that work well with spinach – toasted walnuts, sliced mint, lemon, lots of spices and a good amount of leeks cooked to a silky offering.
Miso Sesame Winter Squash – Inspired by Bryant Terry's recipe – roasted winter squash (and tofu) with a miso, maple, sesame, citrus sauce.
Thanksgiving Network
A selection of sides and salads with something like the following ravioli salad is how I want to put a plate together with Thanksgiving. I never try to "replace" the turkey.
Ravioli Hazelnut & Gooseberry Salad – I've been doing this for a few years now and it makes a great vegetarian dish. Rich raviolis tossed with roasted hazelnuts, sautéed chard ribbons, and caramelized onions are at the heart of this ravioli salad recipe. It's finished with a dusting of cheese, torn chives, and lemon zest. You can prepare most of the ingredients ahead of time.
Chopped Brussels Sprouts & Apples – Another favorite way to cook Brussels sprouts. Sliced brussels sprouts in ribbons, apples, garlic, pine nuts and tofu in a saucepan with a maple syrup.
A little something sweet
A list of vegetarian Thanksgiving recipes is not complete with a little sweet! A favorite pie – You could make apple-huckleberry, straight berries, pear-cranberry, etc.
And that? They also look delicious.
