It's been almost three years since we started working on this cookbook, so at last I'm telling you about it today, it feels monumental, fascinating and scary at the same time. Our new cooking book is called Just Live: Vegetarian recipes all day for colorful herbal cooking, and is available for pre-order now! It's written by me, Anya, and photographed by Masha – the same group of mothers / daughters who are behind this blog.
Today, we share some basic details about the book, accompanied by a trailer book (above), gliding the top photos and pre-ordering ways. We'll also talk about the pre-order recipe package, which is a free gift we created for those who pre-order the book. So excited to share this with you 🙂
About the book
– Just alive will be released on February 6, 2018, but is available for pre-order now. There are 129 recipes in the book, which are vegetarian, 124 of which are vegan, and 109 of them are gluten-free or gluten-free. My goal was to create healthy, everyday recipes that require accessible, whole food ingredients – mainly vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices, seeds and legumes. Recipes have been greatly influenced by the seasons. Our hope is that you will be able to find whatever nice products you have taken in your market or store in the book index and get some ideas to prepare it.
– I used comfortable classic food from around the world as an inspiration for the recipes in the book, which also influenced the organization of the book. The chapters are as follows:
Morning porridge and pancakes – This chapter contains breakfast recipes for every season, both tasty and sweet.
Salads and bowls – this has a recipe for bowls of grains for each season, as well as many live salads for every occasion.
Wraps and replicates – This chapter celebrates the wrapping techniques seen in the kitchens around the world. There are recipes for summer rolls, enchiladas, burritos, maki (sushi), green collar wrappers and more.
Soups and eggs – recipes in this chapter range from rich winter salads to refreshing and light summer soup.
Risotto, Paella and Pilaf – for this chapter, I took the form of well-loved rice dishes from all over the world and re-invented them using different vegetables and cereals (there are even some grains without granules!).
Cheese, Pasta and Pizza – this is the hottest food out there, it is revived to be more vegetable forward – there are recipes for homemade pasta and pasta, but also for noodles and pizza crusts made with vegetables.
Fritters and Veggie Burgers – This chapter has a veggie burger recipe for every season, as well as a lot of lacy, vegetable packs.
Just vegetables – this chapter is here to prove that seasonal vegetables need only a simple push to experience amazing – there are techniques for marinating, peeling, dough, pastry and glass to bring your production to the next level.
Sweets for every season – the title of this chapter she talks about herself – there are brownies, galettes, pies, cakes and creams, made with unprocessed sweeteners, fruits and even some vegetables.
Basics and sauces – a fundamental fund that will supply you with ammunition to quickly create live meals – from mind-like sauces to broth that will cost you $ 0 in extra grocery items.
– I've been thinking a lot about the amount of waste we produce as people, and I've been working on developing techniques to use all the parts of the product I buy. I present some of these ideas in this book, from the aforementioned veggie asparagus broth, to watermelon jam, risotto broccoli and much more.
– The introduction has a story about my grandfather, who has become a basic folklore in our family. I was very excited to put it in a book.
– If you have our first cookbook, The lively painting, this book is a continuation. While The lively painting focused on creativity in herbal cooking, Just alive is much more focused on everyday life. It's all about putting breakfast, lunch and dinner on the table.
– The book has a length of 328 pages, a hard cover and a size of 7.5 "x 10". Each recipe is accompanied by a beautiful photo, except for a few sauces.
