The best coaches are lifelong trainees.

I know why I'm a coach and because I was close to one lot of the good. The best coaches I've ever seen are those who love to ask questions.

They love to try things. To play. Present with an open mind (and heart), looking for new ideas and new insight to chew.

They do not love to fail (few people do), but they I am doing love comments and useful information they receive from their mistakes.

You see, the great workout requires that we ask ourselves about the world: about how biology works, on food chemistry and nutrients, on industrial and human movement.

It also requires thinking about why people do what they do, how stories shape reality, what people are hoping, thinking, dreaming, feeling and doing … on Tuesday at 3pm when it's time for a break.

In addition, the best coaches in the world never avoid asking smart questions for their own practice.

Questions such as:

"How hard are my training skills, really?"

There is always something new to learn in training: Fake ways to grow, evolve, and challenge yourself.

New ways to be curious and ask interesting questions that produce enlightening answers (and results).

Of course, learning requires time and practice. (So, So very practical.)

But that's great news for folks who want a long, lucrative, stunning coaching career. Because that means that if you are committed to becoming a great coach, you will never be bored.

Take this guiding quiz to see how you rate + learn how to raise the level.

In the Core Level 2 Certification Category, we are abolishing guidance skills in 14 development areas, and then we teach coaches how to grow in each area.

In this quiz, we will give you the opportunity to evaluate where you are in each field.

To complete the quiz, give yourself a score (from 0 to 5) about how well you do it – consistently – in each of the 14 sectors below. For each question, just click on the number that corresponds to what you think you are today.

(Be honest and real, we all have to work, it's rare to be perfect.)

Then read your score and think about what it means for your career.
