Partly because it's tasty, but also because it's a breeze to get ready. Not only can you eat the flesh, you can also go for the bark, and it is undoubtedly the best place. History of Squash Delicata
Delicata squash is one of my favorite seasonal vegetables. The name describes it well, the skin is thin and regardless of whether it is cooked, fried or steamed, it does not have to be removed to be consumed. Delicata is native to America, but despite its long history, it apparently lost its grace in the 1930s due to lack of availability due to crop disease. Only in the early 2000s the disease-resistant variety became popular and today it is relatively easy to find it.
Basic preparation of Squash Delicata
In addition to being delicious, delicata is easy to prepare. Cut along, use a spoon to pick up the seeds, slice into half a 1/4-inch moons. Throw with some olive oil, salt and pepper, put on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees until golden brown.
